Strong dancer program
The Strong Dancer Program has been developed by Stefanie Sutherland, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and PBT certified teacher. Specifically for children aged 6 to 14 years old the program incorporates evidence-based practices, age-appropriate functional training and prescribing ballet technique exercise.
Body conditioning plays a crucial role in the development of young dancers. Regular exercise improves cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition, all of which are essential for dance performance.
Understanding the specific demands of dance and the dancer’s body, an Exercise Physiologist can design a program that helps prevent common dance-related injuries.
The Strong Dancer program includes exercises to improve key areas for dance such as flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination. It also aims to empower the young dancer to take care of their bodies and mental well being helping them to reach their full potential.
Classes are capped at 10 students to ensure each student has quality time with the Exercise Physiologist to achieve their personal best.
